My favourite one 'recently' (other than Lord of the Rings anything) is School of Rock.. I saw it in the cheap theatre with a friend and there was a group of guys in the next row who laughed at the same time we did.. and also cheered and loved the movie like we did.. we must have all been 80's kids. :)

What are your guys' favourite movies? Or what movies are you excited about seeing soon? "
I must say that some of my fave movies are School of Rock, Jackass, ummm...Bruce Almighty, The Fighting Temptations, Austin Powers in Goldmember, Cheaper By the Dozen (only cuz of Tom Welling and Ashton Kutcher), Freaky Friday, ummmm...I don't know. There's so many. I'll come back later and post when I think of more
i love all the classic movies like Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Easter Parade, The Wizard of Oz, Holiday Inn, Jumping Jacks, We're in the Army Mr. Jones, etc... but i also love a lot of the new movies out like the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Pirates of the Caribbean, Secret Window (just saw that last night with a bunch of friend, several of my friends went in their pj's and we took a massive blanket with us [i remember now from that movie why i've only ever seen two scary movies in my life... that one and another]) , Hidalgo, Man on Fire, etc... i'm also a big fan of movies that are based on true stories, either fully on the story or the idea for the movie just came from it. i like to read books that a movie is based on and then see the movie and decide what i like more about each for example i read pigmalean and then watched my fair lady... big difference between the two.
what's everyone's fav. tv shows? i'm a M*A*S*H fan all the way. but now a days i like watching everwood, 7th heaven, gilmore girls (luv that show cause the humour in it is so fast some times you just have to tape the show so you can rewind instead of just doing a double take of what was said), another fav. is smallville. i've always been a big fan of the superman comic books (what can i say i've grown up around all this classic stuff...) and the show is very cool. i love it even more cause they are always filming in my area. even a couple weeks ago they were filming just near my house by the hospital, and all the staff and actors and actresses were in trailers and their cars by the skate park near my house so i saw all the cast around. unable to get photos or autographs of the cast cause of security but c'est la vie... good memories still. i do however have photos of a smallville ambulance and police car.
Oh my. I love seven wives for seven brothers!!! sorry, there are just so few people that have heard of the movie. I get a little excited when someone brings it up. I also love Breakfast at Tiffany's... classic. The plot is ok, but Audrey makes it amazing. One of my favorite new-ish movies is The Italian Job. It's a gooder. All it is missing is the funky bunch... tee hee
I forgot about TV. I really like Everwood and Gilmore Girls. I like them because they are entertaining, fun, and realistic. They are also relatively clean compared to the mess of new shows. I am disgusted sometimes when i look at what is on TV. I also enjoy CSI, Extreme Home Makeover... Ty rocks my socks... Hack is good every once in a while... but nothing can beat a good Hockey Game... GO Flames GO... or football...
Best movie ever is orange county ... can i get an amen fron any of the Jack Black fans out there... LOVE HIM... hes so hilarious... SNL that makes me laugh profusely Lord of the Rings Return of the King... seen it 6 times already in the Theatres... man i love it but what a wast of money whent you can buy it..

Almost every movie is rated down in Canada. What would be considered 18A in the States would almost always be PG-13 here. I can't think of any examples off the top of my head, but imdb has a thorough explanation of movie classification ratings and I have seen it happen in many movies. Canada seems to be a lot more lenient on ratings than the States.
"Passion of the Christ" was extremely violent and so I think the R rating was appropriate. It was definitely a visual experience meant to show the reality of how brutal crucifixions were in history and what our Lord went through. I'm waiting to get the DVD when it comes out.
Actually, I think the PG rating for Troy is probably way too low. It obviously has violence, and even some nudity, and yet giving it a PG rating groups it with the likes of Lilo and Stitch. I don't think so.
I think that it has somthing to do with what the context of the movie is cause i know that historical dramas or movie that are non fiction (excluding the passion of the christ.. in which the only reason they say that it has such a high rating is the fact that it might cause some "religious dispute") but any way my mom really likes historical dramas so one day she found the movie "Cleopatra" in a bargain bin somewhere and purchased it. I went home to watch it with a friend and we turne it off because there was so much sex and violence. thats just my opinion, ley me know if you have a different one.

My absolute faves are any Audrey Hepburn movies - especially Roman Holiday, Breakfast At Tiffanys and Sabrina. I also really like What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, Benny & Joon and Extreme Days. And the Anne of Green Gables series, 'cuz it's cute. Oo, and any Jane Austen novel adaptation (esp. Mansfield Park and Pride & Prejudice), and also Wuthering Heights.
As for TV shows, I watch Gilmore Girls, Joan of Arcadia, and 3rd Watch.
