All right we need to livin things up again... so here's the idea post one of your fav. moments or even better fav. funny moments about a concert, or being with the band after or before a show, that kind of thing. Not looking for funny moments outside of the concert setting all right... everyone got the perdy little picture?
Well, I guess I should at least start it off... hmmm funny moment, funny moment. I'll give you my most recent. Couple weeks ago, I went to the Hillsongs United Concert here in BC. Looking forward to it, the Church and the band had made it a free show... so we all knew that it was going to b crazy crowded. Well we went early, but not early enough, because there were about 700+ young people infront of my friends and I. But thats all right we were totally cool with that. So we joined the long, swerving line up of people. ("Interested are you among the masses... ") YAY! For candy necklaces (they were giving them out to all the people in line :D YUM!). Now everyone know that there are only two good uses for a candy necklace 1) For eatting... but of course, and 2) Launching at all the people around you. So, guess what we decided to do... eat them of course, come on. Kidding. We did start to launch them... and out broke the biggest candy necklace launching war I have ever seen. So crazy... dogging here, ducking there... (in the photo bellow you can probably see some of the pieces on the grass). people missing eyes. Well it didn't get that bad. We had noticed camera people wondering around filming and of course idea... LAUNCH! So a bunch of took aime and waited for the camera dude to turn around and start filming... ready, aime, fire! Luck for us none of us had really good aime, but it was still funny. Well by now the mass of people outside of the church had doubled, possibly even trippled. The doors were soon opened and... the first 900 people were let in. What, what is this we did not make it (how did we go from 700th something to way back behind 900 people... lets just say the crowd didn't fallow the line like they were supposed to, meh!) Next thing we new, Phil the pastor, and a couple of the guys from the band came out and announced that they had decided that they would like to do a second show after for all of us still out side... by now the numbers had gone down a bit... so awesome. Everyone outside still got a smily face stamp on their hand. A lot of people pulled out cell phones started playing games and talking to people, some played card games, others tossed around a football of frizbee. We just all had some fun outside while we waited. Phil came out again and started talking it up, and then he asked... 'well, since we are here in canada, we really want to see a moose, there aren't moose in australia so we want to find one and ride it. hey, anyone here seen a moose?" a decent number of people in the crowd raise their hand, and i was one of them (i've seen moose a couple times, but mostly driving a long the freeway up to kelowna (kokahala <- I've never been able to spell of say that), for some reason I had worn my bright neon pink shirt that day. So the next thing I heard was "you girl in the bright pink shirt, come on up here" (all said in this awesome australian accent). So I went up and answered some questions, name, age, where i was from, and where i'd seen the moose. Next thing I knew Phil said that he was going to give me one of the cds. That totally made my day (I had had a really aweful day until then). I said thanks, and then he went back in, and I joined my friends. About an hour or more later, everyone inside was leaving and we were getting back in line to go in. This time round they filled up the church again to capacity with 900 people, all with stamps. Totally unbelieveable. That night was so awesome with a lot of great worship, and Phil did a great job getting the word of God accross that night. Now it is tradition for my friends and I that whenever we go to a concert we bring a youth group shirt for the band, unfortunatly we had forgotten it this time round, and see about getting a photo with the band. And we've never been turned down. But tonight was different, the band disappeared back stage right away, we asked around, but then decided it was time to go home because it wasn't going to happen... the band had to be up at 5am, etc... So we left, but as we turned the corner as we pulled out of the church there in the lights of a back room we saw all of them sitting around and eatting, talking, etc... For a couple blocks we considered going back or not. What did we do, we turned right around and went back to the church. Someone in the group found a canadian tire frizbee and it had a maple leaf on it. So we went up to the windows, kinda crawling like the good balls we are , and then contemplated what we were going to say "hi... can we get a photo?" "hi you guys were awesome..." ya know all the kind of stuff. Finally we just went up to the window, jumped through a couple bushes and stood up in the windows and said "HI!" All of the people just turned around and said "HI!" And just started laughing as we started telling our story, as a peace offering we gave them the frizbee, which they thought was aweosome (night time an out of country band comes to town we're bring a toy moose and tim hortons mug), and asked for a photo. They took the photo for us and got phil nd the lead singer in it with most of us in the window. We talked for a bit more and then said goodnight and good bye and went on our way home. Well, there must have been some stingingnettle in those bushes because we were all itchy and had bumps on our legs. But we still had fun, it was such a hoot. That picture has some of the most memories out of any of the pictures.
(ok first off your picture links need to be diff.. I checked out the links myself and they are super long and huge and yahoo told me "The requested URL is a directory, and directory accessing is disabled on this server. ") send them to me in an email or something and we'll get them up.
next: right.. you were the BC people... they were incredibly wiped when they came to see us because... "they had just come from doing 2 shows in BC, getting up at 5am to fly, and then losing 2 hours in the time change.. and then had to play two other shows in winnipeg" :) but they rocked.. they all do.. super blessings of God!
