0kay this is something that I can never get right in my head... what is the difference between the following things that are connected to concert seating (and do you know of any more):
General Admission
Rush Seating
Mosh Pit area and the seats
okay, I know there are more but I just can't think of them right now. The reason I ask is that I just got tickets for a concert this summer and it says "GEN ADMISSION sec. GA row. GA7 seat. 4" Now I was under the impression before that it was Rush Seating (meaning get to the concert place super early and line up so that you can get a good place to stand or sit) now with the seat info on my ticket I have no idea any more what is going on. Now if someone can be a big help all that info is for the Plaza of Nations in Vancouver, BC for a concert here. Has anyone on trhis board been to a concert there, if so what is it like? Oh one more thing... when the ticket says "no cameras/recorders" why is it that a lot of the time they still let people bring cameras into the place?
General Admission means i think u get put into a seat, u can't choose. Rush Seating means first come, first serve. Mosh Pit-the area in the front...there usually isn't tickets for that...u just leave your seat and go as far up front as u can and have a good time. "No Camera's or Recorder's"-this i'm not too sure maybe it's no camera's with flash. cuz they're not gonna notice if the flash is turned off. maybe they just want them at all...so i dunno... hope that answers most of your questions...i might not be right about all this either...it's what i think!

took awhile, but i found something on general admission:
My tickets say 'General Admission.' What does that mean? General Admission refers to seating or standing areas that are not assigned or reserved, and are occupied on a first-come, first-served basis. When purchasing tickets for a General Admission event, you may be quoted section, row, and seat numbers, however these are for inventory purposes only and do not reflect any actual seating location. Please ensure you carefully read the Event Information and Ticket Information screens when purchasing tickets: Any information on whether your tickets are General Admission will be posted on one or both of these screens. Seating arrangements vary for each event, and there may or may not be seats of any kind available. Ticketmaster cannot guarantee seating for any event that is sold as General Admission.
so that means i'm probably going to be heading down to the plaza of nations crazy early on the day of the concert.
but if the seats are assigned...shouldn't u be intitled to get the one(s) given to u?

About the 'shouldn't we get the seats we are assigned etc'... for instance missionfest with TFK was assigned seating... now for the people up in the balcony who found out that they could go to the front (not like they had to be told.. since about 50 other kinds joined them)... was cool.. and for the guys in the front row who bought those tickets (same price i think)... well they were just as blessed :) about the no recording etc... yes the flash is one good reason.. we don't want to be blinding the poor performers on stage.. and as well they spend $$$ on the lighting.. the effects.. and so when a flash goes off.. or many.. it kind of ruins whatever effect they want. As well many bands are copyrighted.. and they don't want you getting amazing shots and then selling them on ebay or something. That's why bands have 8*10s and posters.. so you buy those... and get the 'great shot' that the band wants you to have.
