Concerts...

Howdy everyone. How's it going? Well... lets get this thing rolling! I first went to a Starfield concert a while back during the Jakefield or Mennonite tour as its mentioned about now a days. It wasn't the first time I'd heard of them though. But that night I got to love their music even more. I met the guys and talked to them for a while after the show. It was probably the only concert I've ever been to where is was not like an opening band and the main band. Both bands worked together... so awesome. Since then I've been to 6+ (kinda lost track of how many I've been to) concerts of theirs in the lowermainland, BC. Each and everyone has brought more memories. I always looking forward to hearing their music, and about what God has been doing through them. They are such awesome guys. And the Lord has given them so many great gifts. I'm so glad to have gotten to know the guys over the time span. I'm praying that they will be coming back soon to BC 'cause I have a lot of friends who want to go next time they are here. One concert I went with the young people's group from my church, and we brought a 'The Fold' shirt, our youth group t-shirt with us for them. Tim put it on right away, and wore it the rest of the evening. (If you've ever been to one of their shows and have seen one of the guys wearing a bright blue shirt with a cartoon sheep on the front... let me know, and if you have photos please send them to me that would be cool). I've just always had a blast at the shows, either on my own or with family or friends.

SF concert memories!

I too saw SF during the "jakefield" tour when they were in Kingston, ON (my hometown)! It was my first time seeing either band and i didnt know what to expect! SF opened and i was like "woah they are amazing!" and because they were talking about World Vision, i decided to sponser a child who i have been sponsering for 2 years now! i went up to the band after the show and Tim started having small talk with me. They were super nice guys with an amazing gift and fire for God! I loved their performance and i hope to see many more someday!

RE: Concerts...

I first saw Starfield in concert when they opened for Jake here in Winnipeg (well, technically it was in Steinbach, but... yeah).

Unfortunately, there was a slightly bad experience as I got a case of the coughs right in the middle of Tim's World Vision speech!! (yes, for any of you who were there, that was me *woe*) I don't know what it was, but something tickled my throat like crazy and it wouldn't go away. I felt so bad and finally high tailed it to the bathroom because I didn't want to annoy everyone to death. I got a drink from the water fountain too, and that helped.

Was very, very embarrasing.

But awesome concert nonetheless. Glad I was there to enjoy it (and annoy people by my hacking )

Aww, at least you have a memorable concert experience!  btw, are you the Crunkette?  I think I saw some of your Starfield icons

I missed the Mennonite tour because it was on a weeknight at the university and I had classes the next day.  I have only been to two of their performances at a local church, the one at the Vibe Awards last year, and the winter tour they were just on at the university again.

I hope they do come back to Canada again after they're done touring the States!

Let's see...first time I saw the guys in concert was the Mennonite tour at the U of C, bought Tumbling After that night, and immediately started forcing all my friends to listen to this amazing band I had found.  Since then, I've seen them 3 times at First Assembly, twice at First Alliance, once at Westhills, saw them in Red Deer, and the show they did on Valentine's Day @ the university, and each show gets better and better.

Some of the most memorable concert memories I think have to be: Fieldstar (were they not the coolest opening act ever? lol), the 'medley', the 'buy our cd' song they did on the mennonite tour, and of course...the sheep song.

*looks at self* I think so. The Crunkette sounds so high and mighty, lol. And man... am hoping some more good "professional" pics of Starfield come out soon. Cause candids are fun, but not too great for icons. (And we also have very few Johnny 5 and Shaun (especially Shaun) pics at the moment)

ps. The "Medley" = teh r0xx0rz.

Mac and Cheese, I think we're from the same city   I've seen them twice at First Assembly, missed them at Westhills but heard them advertise it at the Vibes, and of course, the Valentine's Day show.

Fieldstar, the medley and the French song all rocked!  I wish I could have heard the 'buy our CD', 'sheep' and the 'what a squirrel wants' songs!

Crunkette, are you in the Starfield LJ community?  That's how I heard about you.

theobvious, I think we are from the same city , in fact I think I stood behind you in the autograph/meet-and-greet line at First Assembly once...were you the one @ the U of C show with the foam finger?

And I can't believe I forgot to add the french song! I also realized I missed a show in my list, the show at Prairie Bible Institute, where my 2 friends and I were the only ones in attendance who were not students at PBI - slightly embarrasing.

Hey Mac, that wasn't me with the foam finger at the show but it sounds like that person had fun!  I know what you mean about feeling out of place at a Starfield concert.  At the Valentine's Day show, because it was a youth conference, my friends and I felt so old!  Then again, at all the First Assembly shows, it was for the youth group too so I think I've felt old at almost all of their concerts

That's my foam finger! (and my LJ community! hehe) Me and my sister each made one. Foam finger, that is. =)

And to stay on topic, I've seen Starfield 8 times? I think. Twice with Jake, twice at First Assembly, once at First Alliance (my church!), twice at YC Edmonton, and the V-Day show. I think that's it. Best concert memory? Getting to go onstage at two shows because we were in front row with our [old skool] tees.

Starfield seems to have a big fan base in Calgary   btw, that is an excellent foam finger!  And LJ community as well!

The guys seem to form large fan bases in areas... and then those areas go and spread the word around. for example Langley, BC is a large fan group of starfield and people are always talking about the guys and passing on the word.

So Starfield...

So I have been to a grand total of three Starfield concerts (or as I'd rather call them, wicked cool worship times). Man, some of you people are like, either really really obsessed (cuz I'm not....) or Starfield just never comes to Nova Scotia. I actually saw them once in PEI... Anyways. I think my favorite concert memories are kind of silly... One of them is of Adrian (yes, I know, he's not in the band anymore. But he was at the time!) It was during the Jakefield tour, and he was playing with the gigantic power cord that runs everything, and he pretended to get electrocuted. I thought it was funny... but that's just me I also enjoyed the French song by the way. I also enjoyed playing Can I Stay on piano for Jon at the last concert they did in NS, that made my life.. But I think my favorite memory ever is talking to Tim last time I saw them. He just started talking about like, shoes or something random, it was great; and then as I continued to tell him how they are honestly my favorite band ever, he just sounds so amazed as he says thank you and gives me this huge hug and tells me I'm his friend. LoL...it was great. Thats one of my favorite things about the band, they mostly just treat everyone like they're just friends chillin, and it's awesome

<----- I like these guys

RE: Concerts...

I'm still caught up in, I got to sing Everyday with them, becasue they said they didn't know it.  I was so nervous though, that I probably sounded bad, and I don't remember much after I came off stage because I passed out... lol.  Thank God... my friends were behind me and caught me when I fell.  To this day, I've never been able to live it down that I actually passed out!!

I saw starfield about 6 times.. i followed them through 2 provinces..lol.. yeah i know what your thinking. and well my first time i saw them was March 13th 04.. in Sudbury(where I live) and I remember gettin a wink from Shaun and Tim at one point in the concert. And afterwards I made sure that I was the first to talk to Tim. We talked for about 15-20 minutes and I got a picture with him. Well not "a" picture like 10! lol. Then he gave me a BIG hug and said "yeah your a friend" lol! so happy! and I bassicaly did the same with Jon, but with Jon, I was one of the last to talk to him so I had more time. It went by soooo fast! But the hugs were all worth it. And I did this bassicaly everytime I saw them.. i think they thought I was stalking them! lol! ah well! I love them!! what can i say!?

Best Memories Ever!!!

I can't remember when my first concert was. Maybe you remember Mac. But i have seen the guys 5 or 6 times. Their music is great but the most memorable concerts were the ones with worship... lots of worship. Oh, I remember when my first concert was... First Assembly!!! That was the night that the pastor tried to give us all a headache with the camera thing... ah, it is all coming back to me now. Anyways, I had forgotten about the "medley"... tee hee... but do you remeber the "incentification"? That was at West Hills, right?

Oh, i almost forgot The Sheep Song. The guys think that they are too cool for it now, but it was so cute when Jon picked up the little kid and started doing the actions... they all have BIG hearts. That was really, really cool... I just wanna be a sheep... anyways. Does anybody else remember the sheep song?

I first saw them 5 years ago, my first YC in winnipeg, and I fell in love with them.  I have not missed a YC yet, and they have been there the whole time I have.  My first time there was there first time there also.  SO, we have a bond!  lol (just a joke, they don't really actually KNOW me).  So, ya.  THey also came up to Simonhouse Bible Camp (close to Flin Flon, MB) for a ytouth retreat.  It was great, I met them and talked to them, and of course, bought there CD.  I also got there autographs, which is cool.  I do miss them, it's been almost a year since i have herd them live, and for me that is a super long time. I suppose I will have to make due with their next cd!

Hey all!

I'm new to this message board, but I've been a hard-core Starfield fan since 2001 when they played at YC2001 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland.  Their music just does something to me...the lyrics and the notes just flow with God, and I thank the Starboys so much that they've dedicated their lives to this.

Hey, names Bonnie obviously and i just saw SF for the first time on saterday night, in whiteland, indiana.  i'm from indianapolis myself and had never heard of them before (honestly i had gone to the concert with some friends from church to see Casting Crowns), but i fell in love with the music right away!  though reverence and respect is important, it was refreshing to see people really smile and be happy to be singing to the Lord (not to mean that others aren't just as glad or thankful)!  Anyways it was my friend Laura's b-day on sat and we forgot to take anything for her to the concert.  we wanted to do something special, but we didn't have enough money to buy her a cd for the bands to sign or anything.  so, during the 10 min intermission i went and asked them if they were performing again, that maybe they could sing her happy birthday or say a prayer for her or something.  well, they weren't going onstage again, but they did say they would sing for her if we brought her by after the concert!! i was amazed that they would really do it in the first place and they were so nice about it and signed a picture of them for her!  well, Laura was exstatic with her surprize and she said it was the best birthday she's had! so thanks to the guys from SF, i'm soooo buying your cd when it comes out!  your definately in my prayers and may the Lord bless you in your ministry and keep you safe.

His Peace, Bonnie

P.S. i think Johnny 5 is reeeally cute!
