Does anybody else notice... I know they have been busy... but tim and jon have gotten distant from the whole thing and got up in the record deals and I think it has taken a bit away from the places they sing. They have turned more into concerts and look at me things than time for worship with others. It seems like tim and jon are more for the winning awards and concerts, then concentrating on "god" who they are "worshipping" through their music. Just my opinion not to be mean.
They may have gotten busy with their latest album and all the record label stuff, thus having less time for their fans, but I don't think they've lost perspective on their music and who they are as worshippers. Of course, I don't know this for sure but all the times I've seen them in concert, it's been nothing but worship. The last one that I went to (their winter tour one) was one of the most amazing worship times ever. But I'm sure prayer that they keep focused on Jesus wouldn't hurt at all
You have to remember that it's hard work to not only record an album, but also to promote it and make your work known. If they don't work hard and concentrate on that occasionally, you aren't going to get the awesome music you usually get from them.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.

That was due to a scheduling conflict. It looks like they were invited to play at a conference the same day they were to play here in Manitoba, so they had to cancel the date.
But yes, it was very disappointing to find out the concert I was most looking foreward to this year had been cancelled. But I understand why they had to do it...
About the cancelling Manitoban dates.. yes they did have to cancel and also just to point out it's not 'them' who makes the full decision anymore.. they now have a group of professional Starfield 'team' people.. marketing people as well as a booking agency. So I think perhaps when the booking people booked them for the Acquire the Fire tour with Delirious vs. Manitoba... I'm thinking Delirious won.. and to make it up to "us".. they are holding their CD Release party here. And it wasn't just the Manitoba dates that had to be reworked.. it was also other parts of their schedule.. as well as a wedding to plan and fit into their tour.

As for the concerts becoming more like "concerts" and less like worship times and the guys being more about the awards etc. I have to say that I disagree. I was at their concert on the 2nd of March and while it was an amazing time for music etc. the overall feeling of the evening was one of worship. The last half hour of the concert was spent just worshipping and it was powerful. Also, I had the chance to talk to them and interview them afterwards and to them the awards are just a bonus on the side... it's all about God.
i have to disagree as well. though yes, the guys are getting very buisey. that is a good thing in many ways. God has plans for these boys, which may involve a crazy, hectic, some what disfunctional life style. But they remain, humble and dedicated to family, friends, fans, and being servants of the Lord. their work will always be connected to God and the church community. the most recent concert i went to it was not a big concert thing at all... even with all the lights, the ticket price, 2 "opening" groups, a large large crowd.... the guys sand their full set and then went and hour+ over singing worship songs, leading worship, and praying. they prayed throughout the whole time. and that is so encouraging you can see in their concerts that God is working through them, and that their songs are more than just words with a sound, they have meaning to them.
I dissagree with Crystal as well.......Starfield is an incredible band that is whole heartedly after God.....keep in mind that before they are Starfield they are all individual people and have their own lives to live .....I think its selfish of people to expect so much from them.....They can only do so much....and also remeber that God is the one who brought them to where they are....He knows whats best for them and what they can handle and where they are supossed to be....so just trust in Him .....i was at a point too where i was frustrated b/c i didnt get to see them in concert.....but God spoke to me and opened the door so that I still got to keep in touch with them and God blessed that so much....and then when I finally did get to see them again it was amazing... ...God knows whats best....even when we don't think He does....and even when He doesnt work things out the way we want Him too.....Starfield is very annointed...and totally after GOd...and God is going to bless them so much for that and trust me if they werent in this for GOds glory God wouldnt have brought them so far.....
Umm good try there Ms Anonymous but i was just at one of their concerts and they were amazing , and not just them or their music... but also the worship they led. They were at YC Saskatoon and the worchip their was so awesome and some really amazing things happened. and your comment is ezactly what you said it was... an "opinion" because i really dont think that anyone else shares it with you. and thats just my opinion.
alrighty then.. first off there are too many anonymous.. im getting confused as to who everyone is replying to.. anyways about the message about whether or not a band (such as starfield) is acting more performance driven than worship driven is a big one and since none of us is in the band.. it would be a hard one to say yes i think they are this and that today... etc etc. I've seen big bands and small bands... local ones and worldwide ones.. talked to them, hung around them.. and yes have found amazingly cool bands that are totally after God and seeking to join together the audience and God, while others were cranky, expected more because of who they were (whether it be local band or bigname band), and yes seemed more performance driven. and yes ive seen this in the same band(s). so really all you can do is just keep praying for these bands.. whomever you come across.. and don't let it get you down. just keep trying to encourage the guys and stick to.. Ephesians 4:29 amp version "Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God's favor) to those who hear it." as well as Philippians 4:8 "For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]."

I've decided to close this topic, you can still read it, you just can't post a reply. The reason I do this is that right now is such an amazing and exciting time for the guys, with the new album and the opportunity to reach so many new people with their music. This is the time when the guys really need our prayers and support as they embark on this new chapter of their lives, and I think we should focus our typing energy to lifting them up to God.
